The Exot Vasavana, Jim Corbett: Our Stay Review

We had started looking for a hotel in Jim Corbett with a fairly simple plan: a comfortable stay, a decent property, and a budget of around ₹6,000 per night.

Sounds easy, right? It wasn't quite that simple.

We looked at a few different properties, but some didn't look particularly appealing, while others were simply too expensive for what we wanted to spend. We weren't looking for a luxury resort at any cost. We just wanted a place where we could relax after a day out, enjoy the surroundings, and feel that we had made a good choice.

Then we came across The Exot Vasavana.

We stayed in a Suite, and it turned out to be one of those hotel choices that makes you feel you've got the balance right. The room was exceptional, the view of the garden and swimming pool was lovely, and the overall experience was much better than we had expected.

Our Suite and the View

The Suite was easily one of the highlights of our stay. It was comfortable, well-maintained, and had a nice view of the property's garden and swimming pool.

After spending time exploring Jim Corbett, it was a pleasure to come back to a room where we could simply relax. The view added to that feeling, making the stay feel more like a break than just a place to sleep.

For the price we paid, the room was a pleasant surprise.

Service That Made a Difference

The service was good throughout our stay, but one person deserves a special mention: Vikky.

He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. It was the kind of service that makes you feel looked after rather than just being another guest checking into a hotel.

These small things matter. A comfortable room is important, but having someone who is attentive and willing to help can make the overall experience much better.

What About the Food?

The food was probably the one area where I felt the property could improve.

It was okay, but I would personally prefer going out and trying something else. The biryani, in particular, was too oily for my taste.

This wouldn't stop me from staying at the property again, but if you're someone who enjoys exploring local food, you may want to keep that in mind.

Location: A Big Plus

One thing I really liked about The Exot Vasavana is its location on the main road.

If you've driven to Jim Corbett, you'll know that reaching some properties can involve going through narrow lanes. That's not always ideal, especially when you're driving your own car and just want to get to the hotel without any unnecessary detours.

Here, the main-road location made things much easier. We didn't have to steer the car through narrow lanes to reach the property, which was a definite plus.

Is It Worth the Price?

For the price point we paid, I felt the property offered a good overall experience.

The Suite, the garden and pool view, the service, and the convenient location all worked in its favour. We also received an additional stay discount, which made the value even better.

So, despite my reservations about the food, I would still consider this a property worth visiting if you're planning a stay in Jim Corbett.

Our Verdict

The Exot Vasavana is a property I'd happily consider for another stay in Jim Corbett.

The room was excellent, the service was good, and the location made it easy to reach. Vikky's effort to make our stay comfortable was another highlight.

The food wasn't quite to my taste, but that was a relatively small drawback compared with the overall experience.

If you're looking for a comfortable stay in Jim Corbett, especially if you're driving your own car, The Exot Vasavana is worth considering.

Would I stay again? Yes.
